Apfelstreusel (Apple Crumble Cake)

Ingredients

  • 125 g butter
  • 80-100 g sugar 
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 ml milk
  • 500 g flour 
  • 1 package baking powder
  • 1,5 kg apples
  • For the crumbles:
  • 325 g flour 
  • 200 g butter
  • 250 g sugar
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  •  

Preparation

In a large bowl combine the butter, sugar,  salt and eggs . Add alternately milk and flour mixed with baking powder. Grease a baking tray or line with baking parchment paper. Spread mixture on the baking tray and spread diced apples over the base. To make the crumble topping combine flour , butter, sugar, vanilla sugar and cinnamon; rub together  till the mixture resembles coarse crumbles . Sprinkle topping over the apples. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C/Gas 4/Fan 160°C until golden brown.
